maaaan this is like really oooooold. like, theme song of a 2005 game (?) that i only played a little, and got the song from a message board long ago, and this came up yesterday on shuffle, and i went and research on it and remembered the game's story, and got so touched i suddenly wanted to translate this song even though it's like really really oooooold. (/lol)
So anyway, this is the opening song for Liar-soft's 2005 eroge, Born Freaks. And when you see the word 'eroge', good boys and girls, never google it okay?
As to why I got touched with the game, the whole point of the game is to help the main character's sister, Uracil, fight off an unknown disease that she has had since she was young. Heck, the tagline for this game is (albeit in Engrish) "Difficult, but I want to live". Just imagine Uracil singing the opening song, and if your eyes doesn't get the least bit watery you're a robot.
...although to be honest, I'm still not sure what's with the German, or what the song is trying to 'spin' actually. Both 'dreht sich' and the frequently appearing '回れ/maware' literally translate to 'to spin/turn/revolve'. My guess is that the song's theme is to stir up fate, or turn your fate around, but eh. My policy is that if I really don't know what it means, I'll prefer to not try to come up with some forced interpretation, especially when you're a translator.
